Users Are Receiving The Nothing Phone 1 Android 14-Based Nothing OS 2.5 Stable Update

Nothing OS 1.5, based on Android 13, is presently stable and operates on Nothing Phone 1. The stable Nothing OS 2.5 upgrade for the Phone 1, which is based on Android 14, has now begun to be released, according to the company’s announcement. According to the extensive changelog, the upgrade will improve a number of features, including the recognisable Glyph Interface. It is also said to improve various user experiences on the phone and add additional customisations and gestures. Notably, in July 2022, the Nothing Phone 1 made its debut in India.

The Nothing Phone 1’s Nothing OS 2.5 upgrade, according to Nothing’s changelog, brings a revamped joint Home and Lock Screen customisation page that promises a more refined edit wallpaper flow and a more extensive choices view. It adds a new wallpaper effect called Atmosphere, which aids in changing the backdrop image into a dynamic wallpaper and creating a smooth transition between the home screen and lock screen. The update also features solid colour wallpapers and a monochrome theme for the basic colour area.

This release also includes enhancements to the Glyph Interface. The Glyph light playback effect during device audio synchronisation is allegedly enhanced, and it gives users direct access to the Interface’s Music Visualisation feature. The update reportedly enhances the Flip to Glyph experience and introduces a new Glyph animation for NFC use.

Users of the Nothing Phone 1 can personalise the double-press power button gesture for instant access to any feature with the stable Nothing OS 2.5 upgrade. New Lock Screen shortcut choices including Do Not Disturb, Mute, QR code scanner, and video camera are also revealed by the upgrade. It adds a new screenshot editor and menu, and makes it possible to take screenshots using a three-finger swipe gesture. Additionally, when capturing continuous screenshots, this update immediately removes the preview of the preceding screenshot. Additionally, the back gesture arrow graphic has been updated.

Ring mode switching and network configuration are now supported in addition to an enhanced Quick Settings style that allows displaying more device icons. Widgets for a pedometer, media player, and screen time are also included in the update. After updating to Nothing OS 2.5, users can now individually adjust the loudness of their notification and ringtone sounds. It’s also supposed to offer the best possible camera stability. The update is said to increase battery life, system stability, and general responsiveness and smoothness.
