Sophia Hutchins, entrepreneur and longtime manager of Caitlyn Jenner, has died in a tragic all-terrain vehicle (ATV) accident near Jenner’s residence in Malibu. She was 29.
According to law enforcement sources, the accident occurred late Tuesday afternoon in the mountainous area surrounding Jenner’s estate. Hutchins was reportedly operating an ATV when the vehicle struck a moving car, causing it to veer off the road and plummet approximately 350 feet into a ravine. Emergency responders arrived quickly but pronounced her dead at the scene.
The occupants of the other vehicle involved were unharmed, and no additional injuries were reported. Preliminary investigations suggest the incident was an accident, with no signs of intoxication or foul play. Authorities are continuing to review the circumstances surrounding the crash.
Hutchins, a prominent transgender businesswoman and media personality, became widely known for her professional relationship with Caitlyn Jenner. The two met in 2015 and developed a close bond. By 2017, Hutchins had taken on the role of Jenner’s personal manager and strategic advisor, overseeing various media, philanthropic, and branding projects, including the Caitlyn Jenner Foundation.
In addition to her work with Jenner, Hutchins was the founder and CEO of LUMASOL, a venture-backed beauty brand focused on health-conscious sun protection. A graduate of Pepperdine University with a degree in economics and finance, she was regarded as a rising figure in both the startup and LGBTQ+ advocacy spaces.
Hutchins frequently appeared alongside Jenner at events and on social media. While their relationship was often speculated to be romantic, both parties consistently described their connection as deeply personal but platonic and business-oriented.
