The values of a promising model, by Andrea Del Val

The Venezuelan model shares some tips to new modeling aspirants intending to set them on the road to success in this industry.

Andrea Del Val is a raised and born Venezuelan model currently living in Barcelona, Spain, who has extensive experience in the fashion and entertainment world by the early influence of her family. Her uncle, Felipe, was one of the first photographers to portray her as a model, and her mother, Carol de la Torre; a fashion designer, was her first consultant who later became her role model.

Since the age of 3, she performed several works such as various catwalks and plays in the city of Barquisimeto, Venezuela, and some plays when she moved to Panama to work for Wilhelmina Models Agency (Panama Talents).

All this led her to create and mold her career to success and popularity, as she reached more than 130K followers on Instagram and 80K followers on TikTok with her posts that attract the attention of major brands in Ibiza, Dubai, Madagascar, Maldives, and Los Angeles.

Under the management of Jorge Mondragón in Mexico City, and working along with magazines such as GMARO and SALYSÉ, Del Val realized that the several challenges that she faced, made her learn many values that later led her to success.

As a basis, Andrea assures that any model must acquire confidence and attitude, because both principles are the basis to be a promising model, and should not expect others to treat her the way they treated them. Also, she explains that a model must believe in herself, prepare well for every day, and focus on their goals even if others tell them that they are not good enough.

From there on, Del Val believes that every model must accept that this career could be very stressful and could demand not only peak physical but also strong mental health. That’s why this Venezuelan model attaches great importance to taking care of mental well-being and self-esteem under all conditions.

However, she thinks that this could not be possible if a model does not see it as a priority to have the sense of self-actualization, which means reaching a version of herself that is independent and free, love for their profession, the highest of discipline, and the aspiration of great goals.

As a modeling reference, Del Val wants to create her fashion brand and help in the reconstruction of her native country, while she has fun spending around 10 minutes choosing an outfit or when she sometimes spends a Sunday creating new outfits. For her, as long as a model has the right mentality to say that when she has something in her mind, she doesn’t have to stop until she gets it, the success is guaranteed.

Andrea thinks that these principles have led her into what she is nowadays with especially the good experiences, such as playing different roles in the photoshoots. She says that this is what makes her modeling sessions so rich and diverse because this helps a model to be professional and special.
