One UI 6.1: The Latest Upgrade For These Samsung Devices Comes With Interesting AI Features From The Galaxy S24 Series
Samsung unveiled the new Galaxy S24 series, which includes the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra, yesterday. One UI 6.1, a fresh take on Samsung’s operating system built on Android 14, is preinstalled on each of them.
Naturally, One UI 6.1 won’t be limited to the new Galaxy S24 series; it will naturally make its way onto a number of other Samsung tablet and smartphone devices as well. Some of the devices that are scheduled to transition to One UI 6.1 in the first half of 2024 have already been disclosed by the manufacturer to AndroidAuthority:
- S23, S23+, and S23 Ultra Galaxy models
- Galaxy Z Fold5 Galaxy S23 FE
- Flip5 Galaxy Z
- The Galaxy Tab S9, Tab S9+, and Tab S9 Ultra
Given that it features every flagship model from Samsung’s numerous product lines, this list should come as no surprise. One UI 6.1 will undoubtedly be available for more smartphones as well. For the following smartphones, there are already indications that test builds of Samsung’s next Android software are available:
- Samsung Galaxy S22, S22+, and S22 Ultra; Samsung Galaxy S21, S21+, and S21 Ultra; Samsung Galaxy S21 FE
- Galaxy Z Fold4
- Flip4 Galaxy Z
- Galaxy A54
- A34 Galaxy
Most likely, this is not an exhaustive list yet. The newest Galaxy premium models will most likely be the first to go, with the other devices following.
Along with a host of other innovations and enhancements, One UI 6.1 will bring the new AI function that Samsung debuted with the Galaxy S24 series to other devices—at least partially. This has also been verified by the manufacturer for AndroidAuthority.
Samsung showcased the new AI features of One UI 6.1 in a number of movies, including Live Translation, the Transcription Assistant, the Chat Assistant, the Note Assistant, and Circle to Search. These might, however, eventually vanish behind a paywall.
