Honour has formally revealed that the RSR will be the name of its debut smartphone, which was developed in association with Porsche Design. A teaser released by the corporation today highlighted the meaning behind the name RSR in addition to the announcement.

The term “RennSport Rennwagen,” which translates to “racing sport racing car” in German, is where the RSR name originates. It was originally used to track-only iterations of the renowned Porsche 911 vehicle. The RSR’s complete moniker and design are yet unknown, but it is expected to launch on January 11 alongside the Magic 6 and Magic 6 Pro smartphones.

In the meantime, the Honour Magic 6 and Magic 6 Pro’s designs and available colours have been made public by listing them in China’s Huawei Mall.

Both phones have a circular rear camera module with three triangularly placed lenses, and they are available in black, white, green, purple, and cyan. The photos also verify that the ordinary Magic 6 Pro’s 50x zoom is trumped by the Magic 6 Pro’s 100x zoom (probably 10x optical). Furthermore, the ordinary Magic 6 has a single lens, whereas the Pro has two selfie cameras.

The Magic 6 series’ primary hardware specs include a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor that comes pre-installed with Magic OS 8.0, an Android 14-based operating system. The Pro version will give a top-tier 1TB option, while the base storage options will be 256GB and 512GB. There are rumours that the Pro model has an exclusive satellite connectivity capability as well.

The Magic 6 and 6 Pro are also expected to include a 50-megapixel OmniVision OV50H primary camera and a 50-megapixel OV50M ultra-wide lens, according to earlier reports. The Magic 6 is rumoured to have a 50-megapixel OV50M camera sensor for telephoto photos, while the Pro model is anticipated to use a Samsung HP3 camera sensor.
