iPad Event is where Apple Debuts the New Magic Keyboard

During its iPad-focused event on Monday, Apple revealed an enhanced version of its iPad keyboard accessory, the Magic Keyboard.

According to Apple, the Magic Keyboard has been “completely redesigned” to be considerably lighter and smaller. It also features a function row that provides instant access to features like play/pause, volume control, and screen brightness. In addition, the redesigned Magic Keyboard has a bigger trackpad and aluminum palm rests. Along with having haptic feedback and a USB-C port for charging, Apple claims that it is also more responsive.

Since its release in 2020, this is the Magic Keyboard’s first significant update. Furthermore, it now has features comparable to those of its sibling, the Magic Keyboard Folio, thanks to the addition of the function row.

The new Magic Keyboard is available in two color options, black and white, and two sizes: one for the 11-inch iPad Pro and one for the 13-inch device. It will be available in shops next week and is available for pre-order now for the same price as the previous generation Magic Keyboard—$299 for the 11-inch model and $349 for the 13-inch model.

In other news regarding keyboard accessories, the iPad Air now has a new Smart Folio. Unlike the previous generation, it has a magnetic attachment and allows for numerous viewing angles, providing “greater flexibility.”

The Smart Folio costs $79 for the 11-inch iPad Air model and $99 for the 13-inch iPad Air version. It comes in the following colors: charcoal gray, light violet, denim, and sage.

A new iPad Air with an M2 chip and a first-ever 13-inch size, a new iPad Pro with an entirely new M4 chip and stacked OLED screens for a higher-fidelity display, a Pro version of the Apple Pencil with new sensors, and an updated Magic Keyboard were among the other announcements made during the event on Tuesday.
