How many semesters is in medicine?

At present, the general medical education system includes 4 courses of basic sciences, physiopathology, clinical internship and clinical internship. Basic science courses

Biochemistry, histology, Anatomy (theoretical-practical), Anatomy (theoretical-practical), Physiology (theoretical-practical), Immunology (theoretical), Epidemiology, Psychology, Embryology, Nutrition, Genetics, Specialized language, General pathology , Parasitology, microbiology Physiopathology course This course includes 31 courses that will last two semesters. At the end of this course, the student must have a GPA of at least 12, otherwise the student must re-read the courses in which he / she scored less than 12.

The maximum allowable period is 5 years in the first and second stages (basic sciences and physiopathology). At the end of these two courses, students who successfully pass all the units will be admitted to the clinical internship course. It should be noted that the criterion for passing the exams at this stage is to obtain a minimum score of 12 out of 20; While in basic courses, the criterion for obtaining a score is 10 out of 20.

Semiotics and physiopathology

The duration of this course is 6 months and in this course students learn topics such as knowledge of physiological principles, understanding the mechanism of diseases and the factors affecting them, diagnosing the types of diseases, symptoms and ways of treating them.

At the end of the course, students take an exam called the Comprehensive Internship Exam before entering the internship course, and after passing the internship, they enter the internship course. If a student does not pass the relevant exam, he / she can participate in this exam up to 4 times.

Clinical internship

The duration of this course is 20 months, and students identify diseases and their symptoms and ways of treatment, clinically and in the laboratory, so that they can help prevent and treat the patient in the best possible way.
