Apple Wallet now accepts debit and credit cards from PayPal and Venmo

The days of physically swiping a credit card are long gone, and nowadays, all you usually need to make in-person purchases is your phone. Finally embracing the change, PayPal has announced that you may now connect both Venmo’s and its own credit and debit cards to your Apple Wallet. The corporation cites a 2022 Morning Consult survey that revealed 42% of Americans have used a mobile wallet as one of their justifications for the expansion.

While Venmo debuted its first credit card in 2020, PayPal has long offered credit cards (and has made sure you are aware of this whenever you use the app or the firm sends you an email). Using Touch or Face ID on your iPhone or Apple Watch, you may pay for physical transactions with PayPal or Venmo. You can also use Apple Pay to make digital purchases on these gadgets as well as your iPad or Mac.

It’s the same as adding any other card to your Apple Wallet to add a PayPal or Venmo card. Visit the Apple Wallet app, select the “Add a Debit or Credit Card” option, and then either manually type in the card’s information or scan it in. Through PayPal’s website, you can also instantly add your PayPal credit or debit card to your Apple Wallet. Venmo’s credit and debit cards, however, will also be able to be added through their own applications “in the coming months.” Tap-to-pay capability from PayPal was previously available for iPhones and Androids, but only through the company’s apps.
