The Second Firmware Update For The Samsung Galaxy S24 Is Already Available

Samsung released the Galaxy S24’s initial software upgrade gradually. Almost three weeks after the phone’s debut, in the third week of February, the firmware began to be distributed. It included a solution for the drab display colours as well as several significant camera upgrades. Samsung is currently releasing a new firmware for the Galaxy S24 that includes the March 2024 security patch, less than two weeks after the last update.

Users of the Galaxy S24 in Canada and other European countries, like as Germany and Italy, have reported that their phones have received an upgrade to the AXBG build (via Reddit). No changes are highlighted in the official release notes from Samsung that come with the upgrade. However, it is unlikely to include anything more than the March 2024 security patch and a few small bug fixes given the firmware’s 428MB weight.

Since the device’s release, many Galaxy S24 Ultra owners have complained about a grainy display; this update is unlikely to address the issue. It seems to be a feature of the new Samsung display panel’s hardware.

When it comes to releasing monthly security patches for its flagship phones, Samsung usually does it first. The company’s tardiness in updating its flagship Galaxy handsets made February 2024 stand out among the others. With the release of the March security update on the first day of the month and before Google, Samsung seems to be back on track.

Later in the month, other Galaxy phones, like as the Z Fold 5 and Galaxy S23, may receive the March update. This is due to Samsung’s confirmation that these phones will have One UI 6.1 with Galaxy AI by the end of March. The upgrade will provide AI-generated wallpapers, image generative edits, Note Assistant, and other Galaxy AI features in addition to Circle to Search.

If the AXBG firmware is available for your Galaxy S24, you may download and install it by going to Settings > Software update. If your device is carrier-locked, you may need to wait longer, but unlocked models worldwide should receive the update within the next few days.
