Damian Lillard and Giannis Antetokounmpo will miss the crucial game, the Bucks announced early on Sunday.

Antetokounmpo will miss a sixth consecutive game with a calf tightness that’s sidelined him since April 10. Before ruling out Lillard for Sunday, head coach Doc Rivers informed reporters on Saturday that the team was awaiting the results of an MRI.

Damian Lillard and Giannis Antetokounmpo will miss the crucial game, the Bucks announced early on Sunday.

Two days after the Bucks were defeated by the Pacers 121-118 in an overtime thriller to take a 2-1 series lead, the injuries put them at a serious disadvantage. After suffering an injury late in regulation, Lillard continued to play through it in overtime but was unable to score. With 1.1 seconds left in overtime, Pacers All-Star Tyrese Haliburton made the game-winning basket on a and-1 floater.

With their two All-Stars out, the Bucks will be counting on more from Brook Lopez, Bobby Portis, and Khris Middleton.

During the regular season, Lillard averaged 24.3 points and seven assists. With Antetokounmpo out of the picture, Lillard increased his output in the postseason. Throughout Games 1-3, Lillard shot 44.4% on 12 3-point tries per game and averaged 32.3 points, 5.3 assists, and 3.7 rebounds.

This season, Milwaukee has suffered when Lillard isn’t playing. In the regular season, they lost all eight of the games he did not participate. When Lillard and Antetokounmpo will be able to return to the court is unknown.
