This week, Apple released updates for iOS 17.4, visionOS 1.1, the Mac, Apple Watch, Apple TV, and HomePod. The HomePod 17.4 software upgrade, tvOS 17.4, watchOS 10.4, and macOS Sonoma 14.4 are all included in today’s release.
macOS 14.4
New emoji and more are available on the Mac with macOS Sonoma:
- Along with other enhancements, bug fixes, and security upgrades for your Mac, macOS Sonoma 14.4 offers new emoji.

- The emoji keyboard now includes the following new emoji: broken chain, shaking heads, phoenix, lime, and mushroom.

- Additionally, the following enhancements and bug fixes are included in this update:
- Podcasts Episode text can be utilised with accessibility options like Text Size, Increase Contrast, and VoiceOver, and can be read in full or searched for a certain word or phrase.
- You can receive information from reputable firms, such as order status, flight notifications, fraud alerts, and other transactions, by subscribing to Business information in Messages for Business.
watchOS 10.4
The watchOS 10.4 release notes for the Apple Watch verify a couple things we’ve been tracking are ready for prime time:
watchOS 10.4 has the following new features, enhancements, and bug fixes:
- Double tapping the notice to enlarge it is now possible with the Tap to Show Full notice setting.
- In order to provide extra protection while using Apple Pay with Confirm with AssistiveTouch, a passcode will be needed. Double clicking the side button will not be supported.

17.4 HomePod
According to the release notes, HomePod is delivering the Siri music preference experience from iPhone.
With this update, Siri can now recognise your favourite media provider, so you won’t have to mention the media app’s name when making a request. Enhancements to stability and performance are also included in this release.
