During Sunday night’s event at the Walt Disney Theater in Orlando, Florida, Miss Alabama 2024 Abbie Stockard was named Miss America 2025.
As Miss America, Stockard, 22, will start her year-long reign right away and receive a $50,000 scholarship. Originally from Birmingham, Stockard is a nursing major at Auburn University. She wants to specialize in pediatrics, obtain a PhD in nurse anesthesia practice, and obtain an advanced degree.
After Deidre Downs (Miss America 2005), Heather Whitestone (Miss America 1995), and Yolande Betbeze (Miss America 1951), Stockard is the fourth Miss Alabama to win Miss America.
Now that Stockard has been crowned Miss America, Emma Terry, who placed first runner up in the June state pageant, will take over for the rest of her reign as Miss Alabama.
At Sunday’s finals, which were televised on PageantVision.com and the Miss America YouTube channel, Madison Marsh, the 2024 Miss America, was crowned her successor.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, Stockard was presented with a bouquet of flowers and a glittering crown. Along with getting hugs from her competitors, she made her stage debut as Miss America 2025.
Stockard competed in the evening gown, talent, fitness, and “Hot Topics” categories at Sunday’s finals, making him a major presence. (The “Hot Topics” questions covered censorship, immigration, technology, health care, and climate change, among other topics.)
